could my mom really go to jail for this?

i am in high school and have missed a lot of school. i have been in and out of doctors, had surgery, and had extreme mono that last for 6 months. i have had a doctors note for EVERY SINGLE one of my absences, every one of them. they called my mom and said if she didn't call for why i was out within a day she would be thrown in jail...? she immediately called and told them i had to have blood test done for my fainting spells and that i have an ear infection along with a sinus infection. i grew resistance to the medicine they gave me so it never went away. i already know i have to make up days i have missed, and i plan on doing so. could my mom seriously go to jail?
 
The school loses money for each day you are absent (which is the primary reason they want you back).

However, you are obligated by law to attend school, and if your mother is allowing you to miss too many days and you are NOT sick, she could get in trouble (which is why they want doctor verification).
 
Many states hold the parent responsible to see that the child attends school. This is a checking up to see if your Mom is aware of this school missing by you and can confirm the notes since HIPPA laws do not allow Medical records to be released to just anyone.
