Could it really be an STD, even if I haven't had sex since Dec?

Ok, so last night i started having really bad cramps, or a bad stomach ach. Like doubling over in pain, couldn't stand up. Started about 730pm, about 8am I decided I needed to go to the ER to find out what was wrong. After a bunch of test the doctor says that he believes I have an infection in the cervix. Basically a STD.

So heres my question, I have only ever been with one person, the last time I have been with him was in last of Dec, first of Jan. Does anyone know if I could have had this since then with no signs or syspotoms???

I asked the doctor and he says its unlikely, and they still have to wait for the results to come back to confirm that it is a STD, so it could be another type of infection.

definitely could be an std. mine didn't show up for months after having sex with the guy. but, for it to be an infection type std, i think it's very unlikely. i know it sounds crazy, but where i live, everyone has had this bad stomach virus with really bad abdominal pains as the main symptom. hopefully, it's just that!

If the doctor said it isn't likely, then it probably isn't likely. An infection is *not* basically an STD. Sometimes women just get infections.

I'd wait and see what type of infection you have before jumping to the conclusion that you have an STD.

I am no doctor, but it can be a case of an std going untreated...If you contracted something minor and it has gone untreated for a long period of time there are some stds that will get worse...I mean there are some that you have no idea you have it until it has become a pain.
