could i marinate or season pork shoulder before slow cooking it?

i got some pork shoulders on sale (yay!) but i don't want to cook them until 2 days from now ( they will still be fine). could i marinate or dry rub them and leave them in the fridge til then? i was thinkin it would add more flavor, but will that change the texture or cooking time of them? thanks!!
