It wasn't so long ago I looked into your eyes,
I'll never let them go.
It wasn't so long ago those hands made me cry,
And now our future I'll never know.
It isnt often that i wish for your embrace,
Though I seldom felt it then.
It isn't often I regret my actions,
But now there's things I wish I'd done.
It hurts, your features etched in my mind,
Lonely knowing you'll never look at me the same way.
Knowing too late and all my chances gone,
But even if i asked there was no way you could stay.

This is genuine expression of feelings through prose poetry. Keep writing.

Personally, very few have made a good career out of poetry. If that is what you want, then you should go after it by all means.
