Could I have gout in my hand?

I know I have arthritis pretty much everywhere. But, on Monday this week, I noticed my left hand was getting sore, mostly my middle finger. I've had arthritis attacks that settle in a joint making it hard to move or do anything. That usually only lasts 2 or maybe 3 days. This the 5th day and it seems to be worse instead of getting better. The knuckle on the back of my left hand hurts too bad to touch it. I try to straighten out my finger and the pain gets really bad. It feels like something is wrapped tight around my finger up to the knuckle. It is swollen some and if I try to do a lot it starts throbbing. I can't do a lot with that hand. Getting dressed in the morning is a struggle. Any gout sufferers know anything about this?

Could very well be gout...gout normally affects the big toe, ankle, elbow or knees.Check with your MD and have him/her check your uric acid levels to rule out or confirm gout.
