Could I have 3 home pregnancy tests come back positive and still not be pregnant?

I took a home pregnancy test a few days ago (about 3 days before my missed period) and it was positive. SO i bought a 2 pack of a nicer digital brand, and both of those came up "pregnant"!. So, needless to say i thought i was pregnant. so on the day of my expected period I went to my gyno (i just so happened to have my yearly exam that day anyway) and they urine test the nurse did came back negative and they said i was not pregnant. How is this possible?????
 
If you happen to think that you made a mistake, try again in a few days. Try not to be dependent too much on it. It is better to visit the doctor and get a blood test that is proven to be more accurate than the home pregnancy tester.
 
This doesn't make sense.

I have always heard that there are plenty of false negatives, but no such thing as a false positive.

Get a blood test done, not a urine test.
