Could being involved in relationships with theists brainwash someone?

Atheist Guy

My friend started dating a Christian and his girlfriend hates what I believe in and virtually every opinion I have regarding music or politics or just anything she is saying is bad bad bad, and he's playing along now. I think a lot of people let their guard down and paralyzes their discontent about their partners. It's as if shes intellectually isolating him, possibly without consciously realizing so. I wouldn't predict too much of a problem with most Christians but almost any of them can change people from being affiliated with atheism/agnosticism to taking a "outsider" not involved position generally in favor of their partners faith. He nows thinks atheists are intolerant and it seems he's changed his music tastes that conform with his girlfriend.

It honestly makes me beg the question. Would dating a Christian who isn't open to looking at non-belief or someone deeply committed to faith change a person's non-belief and attitudes towards religion in a scary way? This doesn't have to apply to just Christians and atheists, it can be anything, the act of shifting from evidence to conformity happens in real life often involuntarily.

Now I'm seriously concerned that dating a Christian might influence my views in an unhealthy way
OOPs, paralyzes their discontent with their partner's faith, not their partners
