War is expensive no matter what. WW11 we had to use coupons to buy food. and our cars were made out of wood because metal was needed for ships planes. bullets, weapons.
I don't want these wars. I don't see a way out though. As for the other things I'm not sure it's a question of can we afford it (which we can't) but do we want or need them? It puts a lot of trust in the government which most people don't have. looking though rose colored glasses. If we are all on these social programs and the government says oops out of money.............what happens then?
