Coughing with White Phlegm and some blood?

I've had this terrible cough every now and then for about a week that comes deep from my chest and Phlegm comes up. When I cough enough little streaks up blood come up with it.

However my chest doesn't hurt or anything. Is this anything to worry about, I am on Antibiodics for an Abccess.

I dont weeze I can breath fine. How ever when I cough I can feel that there is Phlegm down in my chest and it is aggrivating that I don't have a clear airway.

The blood doesn't come up all the time only when I am coughing a lot.


If I do go see a doctor what doctor should I see an ENT???
 
Where is your abscess? Have they identified a bacteria? You should get an xray with that history to look for pneumonia or pulmonary abscess. Do you have a history of lung disease or smoking or exposure to industrial dust - coal, silica, etc?
 
it was a pilionidal abcess I went to the doctor and he checked me out it was a post nasal drip from my sinus he thought. He said my lungs sounded clear at the time which indicated nothing to serious.. He told me to take Mucinex DX I am feeling better since the post. But one problem after the other now I am having a problem in my Knee.. I need to take time off from doctors. I am going to ride this one out and see how this one works out. I am only 21 and I haven't seen so many doctors in my life let a lone in a MONTH!
