They were Generic Zicam's from Walgreens. They're supposed to give

Or some sort of bullshit like that.

If you want a sweet drink then look through the liquers not the liquors.
Not all liquers are sweet. All liquors are not sweet.

If your main goal is sweet and alcholic go with a liquor you know you
like and mix some sugar into a portion of it. Pour a cup into a bottle,
then stir in as much sugar as will disolve. That's how rock-n-rye and
southern comfort are done.

If your main goal is to try new liquers then go to the shelves and try
some. Kahlua, Frangelico, Baileys Irsh Crme, you name it. There are
hundreds to pick from so get one you don't remember trying and try it.
At some local stores there are generic brand liquers that have various
flavors. DeKuypers seems to make an extensive line of discount liquers
that immitate more famous brands.

For a cough I have always found that chewing gum works for me better
than any type of medicated cough syrup. I think this is because almost
any time I've ever had a cough it's been from stuff coming up my throat
and the movement of the chewing make the movement smoother.

For a sore throat I suggest Chloraspectic. It has a numbing agent that
turns down the soreness.

But liquers are usually 70 proof or less ;-) I wanted something to
sterilize my throat *and* my brain.

I didn't feel like cooking :-) I was a having a hard enough time just
mixing up frozen orange and pineapple juices (pineapple has more
vitamin C, FWIW). I often mix more water into pinapple juice than it
calls for since it's actually too sweet for me.

The numbness doesn't seem to last very long. The awful taste of those
lasts longer then the effects. But yes, I was using some of that in
the middle of the night.

Codeine is the only cough stuff that works. I've grown to hate the
stuff in the past 4 weeks, and I only take it before bedtime. The
rest of the time I'd rather deal with the pain from the elbow fracture/

I know feel about alcohol (which I like). I could never become a
junkie.
