costs?

Hello,
I think most people on here are from the USA i am from the UK and am wondering if anyone has a rough idea of how much back surgury costs? or peoples experiances of private healthcare.

I have had two herniated disc's diagnosed in fabruary this year and also a tear in one of the disc's so far i have been pushed from one person to the other and now at last i am on the NHS list waiting to once more see a specialist to have the pre op stuff done and then i can go on the list to have the op.

As its been going on for getting on for a year now i am getting more fed up with the constant pain nurabness in my leg which is getting worse as it goes on etc etc so i although i dont really have the money am trying to find out how much it will cost to have it done privatly.

Not sure which op i need at the moment they have not mentioned fuse or disc removal so i dont think its those but anyone out there paid for their surgury (even people in the USA as it will give me a rough idea of prices ... and who knows if its cheaper i might come on holiday for an op!)
 
Hmmm a rough guestimate for me was (as i got the bill in the mail accidentally from the hospital) my 2 level microdiscectomy was about 35,000.00 and the added hospital stay was another 4,000.00

so approx 40k is my GUESS different dr's would charge diff prices and potential discounts, assistance depending on your finanacial situation etc may come into play, all depenRAB.

My fusion, one level, was approx 60,000.00 (I have had 2 surgeries). The anesthesia was additional as well as a hospital stay of about 5,000.00
