I am from Chicago, IL and am planning to change my last name. So I have to do a legal name change through the court. How much would the total process cost and how long does the entire process take before which my new name becomes legal. Do I have to have a lawyer for this process. If not what are the steps involved and what are the forms needed. Please advise. Thanks
