Cost to change phone to XV6700?

I'm going to go signup with Cricket and buy their Cheapest phone ($35 bucks) which will allow me to take advantage of the free activation and free first month.

When I get home I want to call up Cricket and have them change my phone over to my 6700 (a Razr for as far as they are concerned).

What is the cost for transfering to a new phone? $10? $15? Once that is done I'll just throw the cricket phone up for sale on craigslist or ebay.

you can activate your account with a 6700.. there's no need to spend the $35 on the cheap phone.

just buy your phone on ebay, call and activate it, then reprogram it for cricket.
 
Or, alternatively, post a "wanted" ad on craigslist and see if you can pick up a used phone for like $10... cricket just started honoring the first month free even for used phones.
 
Really? I allready have a 6700. I was going to buy the el cheapo phone for the free first month, but if what you are saying is true, I should just be able to activate my 6700 and get the first month free? When did they start doing this?

Aww, bummer. I'm a cheapo, hence the reason I'm looking at the Cricket service. Can't beat the $50/month plan for unlimited minutes, unlimited long distance, and unlimited mobile web!

:) Can't wait to get my 6700 up and running with cricket :)
 
That's actually an interesting question...

I saw on the mycricket.com site last week that they're now offering the free first month for used phones, and I'd assume it doesn't matter if it's cricket branded or not.. why would it? they're not making anything on a used phone.

Even if they do require it to be a branded hanRABet, it's pretty easy to find one on craigslist for $10 or so...
 
Call customer service and ask about it. Tell them you want to move your account from verizon, but keep your verizon hanRABet... see if they'll still do it for you... my guess is that they will, but who knows.
