I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe with 72,000 miles on it. About 3 weeks ago, I had to have the fuel pump replaced and spent a $1,000 to repair it. I had been smelling gas every so often before the fuel pump problem and thought it would stop when I found out the fuel pump was bad. Now, my gas mileage is plummeting drastically. I can drive roughly 5 miles and the "remaining mileage" showing on my console will drop over 20 miles...and that's in barely any traffic. I've read that gas mileage can be affected by a bad fuel injector. Anyone know a rough estimate of what that might cost to replace it on my Tahoe? Money is tight, and I can't afford to take it into a shop to find out it will be another $1,000. Thanks in advance for any responses!
