Cost of replacement parts for toyota celica?

im looking to get a celica preferably the 4wd but iv heard getting hold of parts for jap cars can be very expensive and time consuming with import time added. any help would be appreciated
Why are parts for imports more expensive? why cant i go to a main dealer to get parts for an import?
 
If the car itself is a Japanese import, then yes, the parts will be expensive & hard to get hold of.

However, if it is not an import you can go to a Toyota dealer within the UK!
 
I don't expect it would be any more difficult to get Toyota Celica parts than it would be to get parts for any other car manufactured in the United States or Canada and I don't expect those parts would be any more expensive than parts for any other North American made car. The Toyota Celicas which was manufactured for sale in the North American market where assembled in Fremont, CA, Georgetown, KY, and Cambridge, Ontario Canada. Toyotas made in America may not be as American as apple pie but they are almost as American as Ford, GM, and Chrysler which relies on Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Asia for parts.
