cost of living/ability to find a job in Cullowhee, N.C.?

hello- i have been out of college for a year & a half now- trying to go back to finish my bachelor's but i will not be able to until august because i missed the spring deadlines for the application process. i am wondering how much the cost of living is in Cullowhee, N.C. and if there are any businesses nearby & if those businesses are hiring & what the general pay an hour is.. i'm from burlington, between greensboro and raleigh and it is about a 4 hr 15 min drive to Cullowhee from Burlington.. i'm wanting to move there now and get an apartment & a job and then apply to school next semester.. soo if anyone is very familiar with the Cullowhee area please let me know all of this! And how can i find a nice apartment that does NOT require a roommate- because if i don't get accepted to western carolina i don't want to be enforced to have a freaking roommate (i'd rather live alone) if i'm not even going to the school. thanks alot guys!
