Corporate lawyer pre reqs?

I was wondering what it is that I should major in before law school. Ideally, I would like to know more about what corporate law is exactly and what types of classes that I could be taking right now to better prepare myself for a future in law school.

Currently, I am a professional writing major and marketing minor. I need a plan B in case of an emergency. I thought that this would be the best way to go if there were any issues to arise...I am not so great at chem and other sciences, but am contemplating an information systems focus under a business major...hmmm...so many decisions, so little time!

First off, i am in law school. Everyone who is here WANTS to be here - it's not a plan B. That kind of thinking tells me you aren't serious at all.

The typical "corporate" lawyer first has a undergrad degree in something, you know, REMOTELY RELATED TO BUSIINESS. Professional writing is good, if you like writing manuals. Marketing is so vague it means nothing.

Typical Law school Corp classes (Which i have taken, or am taking) include Corporations 1 and 2, Finance, Income Tax, Secured Transactions, Contracts, ADR, and Negotiations.

Second, typical corporate lawyers go to NYC Law Schools, score in the top of their class, pass the NY Bar, work 90 hours a week, and die young.

You obviously have no idea what you want to do. Dont go to law school.
