1 of the photos tagged for deletion by one of those people who seem to have nothing better to do than complain about everything, I took with my camera. I downloaded it on wikipedia so that I could include it in something else, filled in the information and now it's tagged for deletion.
another photo I found on photobucket, it's a picture of a restaurant in Ontario, it has INFO across it indicating that it was from a magazine intended for promotional purposes, maybe the cover of a franchisee information manuel. i edited out the info word and uploaded it (photobucket photos are public) and now someone who has experience in wikipedia tagged it for deletion. I'm new at this and don't want it deleted because it would affect the articles I created.
another photo was already uploaded by someone who said anyone can use it, i put it on an article and someone tagged it for deletion.
wikipedia has lots of information, it's not fair the only people able to contribute end up the people who have all the time to spend on the internet picking apart everyone's work, people who have a lot to add but not much experience working on wikipedia.
I took one of the photos myself. the photo says it doesn't have copyright information. what does that mean ?
"what is important or appropriate to you may not be to the majority of people on Wikipedia"
do you really think most people would consider taking a picture of a book cover and uploading it to the internet inappropriate ?
that's not a convincing argument.
every picture people take has something in it that's copyrighted (image on a shirt, logo of a car company, the windows of a restaurant), wikipedia is making it very hard for well meaning people to add their own content. copyright laws are almost as bad as ethnic groups calling everything racism.
