Not gonna lie Jack has always been my fav character and sometimes i did feel like i cared about him more than i cared about Jate. But most of the time my love for Jate and Jate were balanced. But i didnt ship Jate bcoz of Jack alone. I dont think its possible to SHIP just for the sake of one character. Shipping is different. U have to really care for both characters and mostly their interaction with each other to be able to care SO MUCH so that you started shipping it.
Jate is my one and only ship -as the crazy shipping goes- and the reason why i so crazily ship them wasnt just bcoz Jack was my fav or something... its hard to describe but i fell in love with what Jack&Kate created together. If that makes sense. :goof:

:nod: Unless the character has deliberately been written to be hated as part of the plot. And when the hate/jealousy extenRAB beyond the character to the actor or actress themself, things get really weird.



I can understand the leaning towarRAB one half of the pairing though (especially if you liked the actor/actress beforehand), and getting out if your preferred half is getting stuffed by the other half. I mean, I love Jack and I love Kate, but I know a lot of Jack fans from another fandom who absolutely despise Kate and just wanted Jack out of there, because they'd gone through similar with a pairing in their own fandom. And I think there were Sawyer fans like that too, which is why Suliet took off the way it did.

If anything the worst aspect of the triangle dragging on the way it did was the effect it had on how Kate ended up being perceived by some fans :(
