cooking time on fresh green beans?

I've found that steaming is about the best. Snip and clean your beans and steam for about 8 min. (you can boil if you don't have a steamer) drain and serve.
 
If you're speaking from a nutritional standpoint, only cook them until they are bright green and crisp, yet tender.

A couple minutes, at most.
