Hi, I made some oat cakes yesterday- they were supposed to be cookies, but I added a little too much milk, and they became cakes- with oats, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, flour, one egg, some baking soda, honey and a little vanilla extract. Anyway, I left them out on the counter covered over night and when I went to try one this morning, the sunflower seeds were a dark forest green and tasted very bitter. I've made things like this before, and it's never happened. Did the sunflower seeds go bad? I can't imagine what else could have happened? Any suggestions I would really appreciate! I guess I should have put them in the fridge! I just can't understand what happened to them, or why!
