I am trying to make ribs for dinner... I was told boil them first but for how long before i grill them?? do i add seasoning if i am going to smother them in bar-b-que sauce?

simmer them in kettle of salted herbed water to get the flabor all through them for about an hour. This is just under the boiling point! or you can put them in pressure cooker at 15 pressure for about 15 minutes. 2 cups water to 2 pounds or more of meat and bones will work just fine. 1/2 tsp salt and any herbs like oregano, thyme, chives is great.

Put the bbq sauce on after they have cooked on the grill for a bit. It will burn faster if you put it on before you grill them mostly done.

maybe you can first boil them them wait for it to cool down then put seasoning on and put it in the fridge and wait an hour.

definitely season, with salt and pepper and onion, bay leaf, garlic. The meat will absorb those flavors and make a nice background for the BBQ sauce.

Please don't boil the ribs. You can cook them in a low heat oven to help tenderize, and it will hold the flavor in moreso than boiling.
Season the ribs with whatever you like. Add a couple of bay leaves and a cup of chicken broth and tightly cover the ribs before placing in a 325 degree oven for a couple of hours before placing on the grill.

When I cook ribs I bring the the large slabs to a boil in salted water and let them boil for about ten minutes. Then I remove them from the water, season them with salt, pepper and garlic or cajun seasoning then put them on the grill with a low heat and smoke for about 5-6 hours. During the last hour I repeatedly slather them with sauce.

You can do pretty much the same with the oven at about 275 degrees.

Boil them about 45 minutes, remove from water and season with pepper and seasoning salt, then place on hot grill. Brush on BBQ sauce {I only use Sweet Baby Rays} Turn after 5 minutes and repeat. I do this for like 30 minutes this will build a nice thick coating.
The meat will fall apart and be so yummy. Enjoy
