Your friend is either an idiot or no friend; that's not Lasagna.
Lasagna
There are 2 types of noodles; the new ones don't need precooking.
But the regular ones should be precooked, or they'll be too hard.
You'll need to boil 12 or 16 for making a typically sized Lasagna.
There are 3 types of cheese: Ricotta, Mozzarella, & Parmesan.
Ricotta is a very young cheese, like small curd cottage cheese.
Provolone is similar to Mozzarella, a young soft cheese.
Parmesan is dry & aged, it can be replaced with Romano or Asiago.
You can use red tomato sauce or white alfredo sauce, your choice.
Start with a layer of sauce, then noodles, with spoonfuls of Ricotta.
You can put meat, fish, or vegetables between the layers too.
Then sprinkle with grated mozzarella, & repeat the layers until done.
Pour sauce over the top, so it doesn't dry out, sprinkle with parmesan.
Bake in 400F oven for 20-40 minutes, until bubbly & golden on top.
Lasagna is better re-heated the next day.
