Cooking live crabs for the first time?

Tonight we dine on crabs! However, I have never attempted this before... I have read that steaming tastes better, but only have 2 small steamers- and can't really go buy a new seafood steamer for one meal.

Also, do I have to prepare them in any way first (like ripping out guts or organs)?

Please excuse my ignorance;)
