I understand that grilling is a dry heat cooking method in which the food makes direct contact with the heat/flame. Therefore, the source of the flames needs to have grills to allow the flames to make contact witht the food.
However, when you grill in the oven, do we need a grill? If so, what is the point of it in this case?
Final question about cooking: when baking, is there a way to tell how long something should be baked for in the oven if you're not following a recipe which tells you?
Thanks
