Cooking chicken in a skillet (need an answer quick!)?

I'm making chicken cordon bleu, and to be honest I'm a rubbish cook, and this recipe is telling me to cover the chicken while it simmers in the pan, what do I use to cover it? Can I use tin foil? or like a plate...? Argh!!!
 
If you dnt have a lid, use foil and cover it as much as possible. or maybe another lid from another pan or pot big enough to cover. good luck
