D Dave C New member Sep 24, 2009 #2 Both vinegars are diluted to about 5% so acidity is not the issue. I'd say yes you can substitute apple cider vinegar for distilled white vinegar... you will get a little apple flavor from the vinegar, but it should complement the dish, chili.
