Cookie Jar and DiC To Merge

Incidentally, I should point out that Jaroo "cheated" with Ulysses 31 and Starcom. The episodes are based on the masters for the only R1 DVD releases the shows currently have (and the DVDs have since gone out or print). This is especially the case with the Ulysses 31 episodes, which are the exact same ones on the DVD (I know this because I have the DVD). I also learned that the Starcom DVD only has the first three episodes: the same ones that are on Jaroo, but were uploaded in the wrong order. The worst part? There are currently no plans for the remaining episodes.

I'm really disappointed in Jaroo for this. Even if they didn't think that the viewers (age notwithstanding) wouldn't "know the difference", "actions speak louder than words", as they say. That said, I hope they'll they'll actually upload the reamining episodes of these shows someday; they only had brief runs (26 for Ulysses 31, 13 for Starcom).

Oh yeah, for some reason Ulysses 31 is being referred to on the site as "Ulysses of the 31st Century", which is NOT the show's proper title.

Also, "Knights of the Zodiac"? As in the "everybody else" English version of Saint Seiya (which didn't "dub" all the episodes at that)? That has to be a mistake. Didn't Toei take back the license for that show? I suppose Sailor Moon (the DIC version, obviously) will be next then (and we know that license expired)?...

Oh, and another thing, they don't seem to have plans to add the rest of Beverly Hills Teens either. Also, doesn't Nickelodeon own the U.S. rights to AYAOTD? Further, The Program Exchange currently has the U.S. syndication rights to Carmen Sandiego (also the reason Dennis the Menace won't be coming).

A related question, how is The Busy World of Richard Scarry able to air on This TV, and Cookie Jar Network, much less possibly come to Jaroo? It was co-produced by Paramount Television, so wouldn't that give CBS Television Distribution (it's successor) the distribution rights?

I wonder why is Sonic Underground the only Sonic the Hedgehog show that gets such widespread exposure. Other than the DVD releases, SatAM and Adventures barely gets any exposure at all.

At the end of The Busy World of Richard Scarry credits it says "Copyright ? 1993 CINAR Productions Inc. The Busy World of Richard Scarry is a Trademark of Paramount Pictures" So now Cookie Jar owns the copyright and CBS owns the trademark.

It looks like they only have plans to upload the first season of Captain N. Hopefully they'll add seasons 2 and 3 eventually. Also, do they own the rights to Camp Candy? Wouldnt mind seeing that show again.

At the end of an 1999 episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark it says "Copyright ? 1999 Campfire VI Productions Inc., a subsidiary of CINAR Corporation All rights reserved" so Cookie Jar also owns the copyright for Are You Afraid of the Dark.

Hey!

On Jaroo, a couple of episodes of The Littles have the original 1983 DiC logo, and the episodes are unaltered and unedited, unlike the syndicated episodes.

Flight Squad has the original 1993 Cinar logo on all of the episodes provided currently.

Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors (on episode 5) has the original 1984 orange DiC Vortex logo, without the SFM logo. Other episodes have the short 1990 DiC logo and a Saban International logo.

And Super Mario Bros. has the Viacom logo after the 1990 DiC logo.

Now, The Littles were on KEWL Cartoons last year with the 2001 DiC logo, but on here, it's the original episodes in great shape.

Looks like your right about that, as I seeing what was on TV at 8:30 AM today and Carmen Sandiego was on The Worship Network, so I watch it and it had the DiC kid in bed logo and The Program Exchange logo.

Actually, it's on Cookie Jar's site (complete with the intro). Classic Media mainly owns the character and the Europe rights, I believe.

By George, you're right (They ruined the timing of the intro when they changed the company reference, BTW).

All right, now I hope Little Lulu eventually makes it to Jaroo, since it hasn't been seen since it left HBO.

I have "This" in my area and it isn't showing anything but old low-budget movies I've never heard of. Cookie Jar is nowhere in it. Is this supposed to change?
