Cookie Jar and DiC To Merge

Neither one, maybe. KEWLopolis is aimed towards girls primarily (anyone who's ever seen any part of the block's "KOL Secret Slumber Party" incarnation knows that), and W&D might be considered too patronizing, and Magi-Nation seems more boy-centric.

I was wondering for awhile what would become of DiC.

I think it'd be nice to see them try to rejuvenate the Heathcliff series so long as they keep everything IC and don't do anything horribly drastic in the way of changes that has potential to ruin it.

Hmmm, methinks who is this "Thurston Last" guy. Really similar. :p

Looks like June's the month when companies decide to merge. It's good that Cookie Jar is buying a historic animation company like DiC. But truthfully, wow, out of the blue in this article.

Why does Cookie Jar co-own Marc Brown's Arthur? Season 13 episodes have aired early this year in Canada and the UK while they have yet to air on PBS Kids in the USA.

I'm glad we agree there. I'd love to see it return and live up to its potential.

BTW, have you ever been to the Cookie Jar website? It has a fairly neat WofQ trailer (that frankly makes the series look far better than it is) but what's most striking is that WofQ is labeled as being "edutainment". I mean, seriously, what kind of education could a kid get from the series as it stands now? That heroic behavior involves kicking mouthy little princes around and hating everything? Or something? :P

Well, as judyindisguise mentioned, World of Quest did pretty poorly on Kids' WB/CW4Kids. Even with new episodes, it usually lost several viewers from Spectacular Spider-Man, and almost always lost to its competition...which was reruns of That's So Raven and Dinosaur King. I'm not sure that even Warner would renew the series for a second season if they were still in control of the block.
