I keep getting a letter addressed to a name I do not know or current owner. It is from Maria Pappas/Cook County Treasurer. They say i owe tax money on a Maryland property but they are in Chicago. I live in Maryland. I just bought this place a year ago and I can't see how anyone would have to pay property tax to another state. How is this possible?
