Convert a Verizon or Other CDMA to Cricket?

Can this be done? I am tired of junk Cricket phones and am hoping one of the other cdma type phones could be converted to run on Cricket. I think there is somebody on eBay doing Cricket conversions, but they are really slow to answer emails. Anybody help me on this one?

Great forum BTW, I have been lurking for a lil while and finally decided to sign up. Thanks.

I don't know if it's possible. If you can get Cricket to take the ESN, then it can be done, but Cricket's programs won't work. If you get a Nokia 6255i though, you can use Java. Once you get them to take the ESN, the MSL must be reset to 333333 for crickets network. Motorola phones - easy to do. Others - varies.

yes it can easily be done. you might a littler advanced phone knowledge.

1) get a cricket PRL file.
2) Load it onto your Verizon Phone
3) do the ESN switch by telling Cricket your Verizon phone is a similar model Cricket phone (I.E. if you have a Verizon V710 like me...I told them it was a Cricket V262)
4) manually program any sys ID nurabers, etc.
5) Cricket has been activating other CDMA carriers phones for quite awhile now. Motorolas, Nokias, and LGs are the easiest to change over to Cricket from Verizon or Alltel.
