I have this little theory, not really relevant or important, but just sort of to see what and how people think. So consider this and give me your opinion. (excuse it being really censored, but yahoo answers is too politically correct)
So I get why it's not OK to use the N-word, because black people were enslaved and didn't have rights for a long time after that and because it's not ok to use a word that degrades anyone at all--race, gender, orientation, whatever. No one really has a problem with the 5-letter B-word. Well some people do, but alot less people have a problem compared to the amount that have issues with the N-word. So consider this, the B-word is used as predominantly as a discriminatory term for women, who like African Americans were enslaved in many different countries, and still are enslaved in the sex trade, and actually didn't get to even vote until AFTER black men (who first gained the right to vote in 1870, whereas women of any race didn't get to vote until 1920). So why is the N-word so much more sensitive than the B-word? Is it because women are more discriminated against in modern America than black people? Or is it a cultural thing? Tell me what you think about it all.
