Contagious illness =s

My boyfriend has been very ill recently, with a sore throat which could be tonsilitis, but the doctor also suggested it could be mono/glandular fever.

He hadnt allow me too see him for a 5 days because he did not want to make me sick but i went to see him last night, because i missed him :( (haha)
We were laying together in very close proximity most of the night and we kissed. I know that was probably the worst thing to do.. but it just happened. Raging hormones and what not, got lost in the moment :p

But now im a little worried.. I woke up fine this morning. No sign of illness.

How likely is it that i will catch what he has? And is there anything i can do to prevent it?

I have a very important dance production coming up and i really dont want anything affecting my performance

Thank you

I use to work for a Pharmacist, people would come in asking what they could do for a sore throat. He always told them to start gargling with salt water.
If you start showing signs of the sore throat start gargling!
