Contact Shortcut: Cannot Choose different Default Numbers for Calls and SMS

I chose a contact as a shortcut. If a contact has multiple numbers, when I
click on the shorcut and click on the phone icon, it will ask "remember
this choice" for default. Well... I want my calls to this person to have a
default number, but I want the default SMS number to be different, but it
doesn't do it. When I choose a default CALL number, it uses that as the
SMS default number.

Basically, I want "phone number A" to be the default CALL number
and "phone number B" to be the default SMS number. Any way to fix? Thanks

The default number is the one that is used all of the time, assuming it's a compatible number for what you're doing.

If you choose a default number that can be called and texted, then this will be used for both. This is what usually happens.

You can kind of work around it, by making a shortcut on your home screen (or put it in a folder) by long pressing on your home screen, selecting Shortcuts, then either Direct Dial (for the number you want to call) or Direct Message (for the number you use to text). That way, you can just click whichever you want to do straight off your home screen.

You could use Bettercut to create either a direct text or direct call icon on your desktop.

Well I can't SMS a home number... I guess I can use direct dial and direct SMS, but... I wanted one shortcut to save desktop space. I don't know why I can't choose a default by hitting "remember this choice" for CALLS and then have it ask me the same thing "remember this choice" for SMS...

That's what I meant - have two shortcuts. You could put them both in one folder on your desktop of course.
