I am 16, and I am working on this painting:

that I am not finished with yet (I don't think). I usually paint animals with a realism style, and everyone seems to like my regular realism style that i usually paint w/. However, I wanted to try something different and a bit abstract, with more emotion and mood... I often have trouble w/ using my imagination and creating abstractions.

Should I leave the painting as is, or should I add more trees winding into a path to one side (to add more perspective, movement, and a off-center focal point - I realize that the viewer is drawn to the center where it is blank). However, would this make the painting too busy? Also should I make the trees more realistic by adding shading/light source, shadows, etc. or should I keep the painting more abstract?

any other comments would be great, thanks!
some of my other pieces; as you can see, my work is generally fluffy, happy, and realistic; not so much with this one! I am struggling w/ the use of abstraction.

frodoliv - thanks for your suggestion, but the entire point i tried to make was that i was making an abstraction, not realism... i know how to paint realistically, that's just not my point here. thanks though.
