Socrates argues that he did not corrupt the youth of Athens as follows: If I corrupted the youth of Athens, then those who I corrupted would want to complain about what I did, and they would come to this trial to denounce me. If they do not come to complain in person, then their family members should be here complaining about me on their behalf. Some of my "students" and their family members are present at this trial, but they do not complain against me.
