Concept: Another comic book film, with Keanu Reeves.
Story: John Constantine can see demons and angels.
Cast: Keanu, Rachel Weiz, Cate Blancett
Can Keanu act? No.
Can Rachel act? Yes. Very well. Surprising.
Is it faithful to the comic? No. Comic fans need to bear this in mind - you will be pissed off if you want a faithful reproduction (Keanu being cast as John should give this way).
The good? The special effects. They're well done, and occasionally unexpected.
The bad? Keanu, in my opinion, is completely miscast for this role. He's supposed to play a bad arse, seriously annoyed, alcoholic 'hero'. He smokes a bit, but that's about the extent of the acting.
Does it work? The story is very religious in context. If you know your theology, you will enjoy this film more than most. It's clear looking at IMDB's user reviews of this film that many people didn't even understand what was happening.
There are several scenes which gel really well, are funny, or are just plain good.
I could imagine this being a trilogy.
One major problem? Whenever Keanu was on the screen, I was expecting Trinity to appear. Or Morpheous. I wouldn't have batted an eye lid. I just can't escape the Neo element in films like this.
