Just a few questions.

First off, does anyone know how service is in Colorado? I had it back in 2001 and it was ... not so great.

Second, can Sprint phones be flashed to Cricket? I have a Sprint PPC-6700 that I'd love to be able to flash over to Cricket to service if at all possible. It would make absorbing my 200 dollar ETF a little more palatable...

I don't know about your 2nd question... My guess would be that you could, but only use Calls and Text....

I think all of the other services are firmware based, so, since cricket doesn't sell any PDA phones..... probobably not..

yeah teh ppc 6700 can be set up on cricket, and a few forum merabers have recently made progress getting web and other features working on that phone too. poke around.

I've been using Cricket as my main line since Feb '03. That was when Verizon changed their "worry free guarantee" and started to prorate bills backwarRAB and forwarRAB when you either up'd or lowered your plan. So what used to be sensible back then turned into a bill gouge-fest. So I bought Cricket to save on the Verizon bill and BS.

I personally think the service is fabulous!

I'm in Castle Rock... and as far as going up and down I-25 down here, there is a dead spot just south of Lincoln Ave (and all providers might drop there - it's hit or miss).. and then there is another 1/2 mile or so between here and Monument that it beeps ot of service. Other than that, it's great.

Because I still have Sprint for the family (left Verizon in June), I haven't had a need to try Cricket's roaming plans.

I know some people bellyache about Cricket... but it depenRAB what you're trying to do with it and where you live. For $50 a month, it can't be beat, IMO.
 
Yeah I'm spending about 80 bucks a month with Sprint right now...

And as far as the PPC-6700 goes, its not the same firmware as the Verizon version so I'm curious if anyone has done this with a Sprint 6700 and had success.

I've got my MSL code (hooked the phone up in Linux and hacked through til I found it, since Sprint refused to give it to me) so I'd be all ready to go.

Looks like Cricket has HUGELY expanded their service area.

So... if I hack this phone to work on Cricket, what do I do? Call them and set up service that way? Seems odd that they'll let me activate without buying a brand new phone through them. Guess I'm used to the ripoff carriers. :)
 
if you do not have a account with cricket they will charge for the first month of service and activation.....its like 80bucks or something
