So ,if your saying GM had a far worse product, than say Ford, why didnt it fail on its own merit as many business do all the time. Why would anybody pour money into a looser

Why in the world would you say "the gov will do a bad job as a car manufacturer?" ... ok, I agree, the gov is not that qualified but can we really say that it will do as bad as GM did by itself?

- They haven't innovated for decades
- they've produced cars in huge quantities just for the management to make a quick buck
- they made cars with no reliability for decades
- they flooded the car market with cheap cars

My guess is ... the gov CAN'T do any worse anyway!!! Do you at least agree that it can't be worse than what it was? Why the scandal then?
So you expect me to believe that their labor costs were so high that the once number 1 car manufacturer in the world couldn't absorb the costs???

See, you don't think ... you believe.
Chuck ... because unemployed people do not benefit the economy ... they don't work, they don't pay tax, they don't consume, they get subventions ... unemployement is pratically is the main factor in an economy ... but you guys can't remember what you did in economics 101 !!! Logic is once again not your thing
Jim, we hurt today simply because we have 10% of us who don't work ... again, they bring NOTHING to our country that way ... are you willing to have THOUSANDS of unemployed people?

Who will buy the houses, the cars, the cell phones, the TVs, the sofas ... if more than 10% of us don't have a job???

**** My guess is ... the gov CAN'T do any worse anyway!!!

Your guess is wrong. They can do much worse and they will.
Many people also thought that it was impossible to do any worse that GWB or than Carter, but look at how Barack Hussein Obama is doing.

**** unemployed people do not benefit the economy

Then WTF do libarals want unions and minimal wage and corporate tax - all these are the main reasons of high uneployment rate.

And their workers aren't even college grads but they make $80/hour working on an assembly line and have better benefits then lawyers and doctors....yet you still refuse to see how the UAW has had a negative impact on the American auto industry.

Hey Bruno, There's a failing lawnmower manufacturer here that I think we need to keep going. Now I don't know the first thing about making lawnmowers, but surely I CAN'T do any worse then they've been doing for the past ten years. Would you loan me $50 billion or so to see if we can make it work? Whaddya think?

It seems only logical to do this, right?

There's your irony!!
