I recently upgraded from a 32 inch LCD tv to a 42 inch LCD tv. I had my old one plugged into my stereo using the red and white cords (as these are the only plugs on the back of my stereo) and the sound from the tv used to come out of the stereo when i put the stereo on AUX.
Now I've plugged the stereo into my new LCD tv and all i get is static. I've gone thru all the settings on my new tv and tried different cords. The stereo has no problem playing cds or radio.
I'm stuck. The only thing I can think of is to buy a HDMI HDTV TO VGA WITH AUDIO VIDEO RCA CONVERTER ADAPTER that i found on ebay. But, if it worked on my last tv why wont it work on this one?

The main thing I wanted to hear thru the stereo speakers was my PS3 so I plugged the PS3 into the stereo using the cord that came with the playstation and it works.
