Confused about art college major. (FIT)?

I am almost sure that I want to go to FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology). I am not sure, if I want to apply to their photography department or their AAS Communication design than their BFA toy design major. I would really like someone who went to FIT who has insider advice. I was reading somewhere that FIT's photo is geared toward fashion, and fashion only. I feel like photography is passion, but I'm ot sure if I would get a job when I graduate. I feel like photography is one of the harder art Industries to break into. DOes anyone know about the communication design major? Also, does anyone know about any other art colleges in NYC with good photo programs? Thanks So much. If anyone went to FIT, I would like to ask them a few other questions about the school in general.
