I had a second 6100 receiver installed this passed weekend, I just discovered that if my wife changes the channel downstairs (1st floor) she also changes the channels upstairs (3rd floor) and vice versa. Also if one unit is powered on and someone tries turning on the second unit, the first shuts off. I assume the remotes use the exact frequencies...

What can I do to fix the issue? Basically it's impossible for us to both watch seperate programming in the house, the whole reason we purchased a second receiver.

Simply change one of the remote adress...

Press menu (top left corner, very small button) then 6-1-3...
You will have system info on screen

Press SAT button (top left corner, round white button) and hold it until all top button light

Enter a number between 02 and 16 (I suggest between 10 and 16, as most people use 01 to 09). Remotes are always pre-programmed at 01 so you should use an adress different than 01 since your other receiver is pre-programmed at 01.

Press pound (the tic tac toe button in the middle right side)

Then record (in the middle right part) 3 times

You will see the adress on screen change

Once you see it change on screen press VIEW TV (middle right part, blue button)

Enjoy!

The instructions given by Ex Agent are great, however I would add one more thing just to be sure.

Turn OFF and un-plug the upstairs receiver when re-programming the downstairs one.

I say this because it is possible that you end up programming BOTH 6100's at the same time.

I would add that if this was a pro installation, the installer should have ensured this did not occur before he left.
