Confirmed: Cricket get's Ev'd up.

wow with cricket gettting rev a service will it the web really stay as cheap as it is???? i really dont want to have to pay 20 dollars a month for internet

August? one month to build out install and test? I've worked next to lucent installers in verizon central offices, trust me their in no rush. Also if you read the press release it states it is a five year investment.

I wouldn't expect it to be up in a month. Yet i wouldn't totally count it out. As from other posts evidentially there is Cricket EvDo already is one area. From what other's say (Jammis) EvDo is up and running and has been in use for 1 month+

Yeah The EVDO towers have been up for a while now. If you use the cricket EVDO PRL's it will show the signal for it. From what ive heard from my trusted sources is that it will be out in august.

then why does the contract extend for five years? Like I stated I've worked next to lucent installers, they are in no rush to get a job done. Four hours to mount an equipment bay is a bit ridiculous.

The 5 year contract COULD be for maintenance.. I believe the system is already in place.. I put the ev-do PRL on my phone, and it showed me as receiving the signal, but I cannot call or connect to it.

I'm inclined to agree with jammis, the technology is there... likely shared with verizon, sprint, and/or alltel, but cricket just signed a service contract.

Just my $0.02. I don't know crap, and could be COMPLETELY wrong.

cricket wouldn't pay lucent to maintain their equip. they'll use lucent for equip. purchase and installation as well as co-engineers. most likely lucent will upgrade existing markets as well as help build out some markets upcoming. Those of us that hear talk know about philly and chicago as well as las vegas. Look up the auction 58 purchases from last year, I believe it's on the FCC listing

it's kinda funny how i put the lucent contract in a thread as well as the stock prices and other people use that to start new threaRAB like its a first. sorry had to do it

just spoke to a friend of mine with cricket who works in deployment. and well cricket isnt getting it anytime soon. yes a couple places one of them in wachington and the other in new mexico. but tulsa isnt getting it for a long time. same with wichita

yay im in new mexico. lol. i guess ill tell you how evdo is lol.

i was about to switch services and i just found out that everything else is so much more expensive for data
