Confetti

I just thought I'd flag this film up as nobody seems to have mentioned it. It's a British comedy, and it's actually very funny! Basically it's a mockumentary (think a bridal Best In Show) about three couples vying to win the title of 'Most Original Wedding of the Year'. The gay wedding planners are superb. If you haven't seen it already, you can catch the trailer by clicking here. It's got a great cast (Martin Freeman, Jimmy Carr, Jessica Stevenson, Alison Steadman) who improvised the whole thing. Impressive. I hope it's a hit.

I think it's being released at just the right time because it's the total opposite of MI3. Women - who may not be into action films - will flock to it.

Yeah that is true as I didnt even think of that. The strange thing is that I have not seen any trailers for it in the cinema or on TV so the majority of people who would like Confetti are not even aware that it is being released!

It's funny you should say that because as I was writing my original post last night there was an ad for it on TV and posters have popped up all over the tube in London, seemingly overnight. Nothing, and then loaRAB. Weird. They must being trying to get it all out there before the market gets flooded with Cruise and MI3 after the premiere next week.

I saw a trailer for it last weekend before going to see the inside man. It looks really funny. You couldnt pay me to go and see MI3, or anything else with tom Cruise in it. thank god now I have an alternative.

I saw Confetti last night and really liked it! :)

Before I watched it I saw an interview with Martin Freeman that said the film wasn't scipted, they were only given the basic plot line and prompts and improvised most of the script! How cool is that?! :D

(Oh, just read that in the first post! Oh well! :p)

Anyone else seen it yet?

I'm dreading this, my girlfriend wants to see it, and I just hate this kind of thing.

Does anyone have any suggestions how I can distract her as we buy the tickets and drag her into see silent hill instead?

It was a good film however I was a bit disappointed.

The cast is great, all from Spaced, Peep Show etc so I was expecting it to be really funny.

It was watchable but not quite as witty as it could have been I guess.

its been trailed as a traditional romcom, people dont realize that its more like best in show. however not reaching the heights as those folks :D

i enjoyed it however you dont need to see it at the cinema will work on tv (and being bbc films will be on tele by xmas i bet)

I saw it with my girlfriend on Saturday. It wasn't my thing I said as I thought it would be like 4 Weddings, Love actually etc but it is more like The Office.

Worth a laugh anyway.

Anybody notice Bev without Kev?

It's a whose who of british sitcom - e.g. peep show and green wing

but it is not funny at all - really dissapointing - save your money and wait till it's dvd it doesn't need to be seen on the big screen.

It's like someone has seen best in show and thought I can do that with weddings.

2 gay guys check

a really competitive couple check

councillor check

jealous husband etc

jokes.... doh! I knew we forgot something!

i want to go and see that, my fella is into jimmy carr and he mite want to see that although he wants to see MI:3. I can see a ultamatum coming on lol

I liked it. Kept me laughing from start to finish. Warm, funny, and fuzzy. Hardly gonna be a 'classic' but well worth my quiRAB and time for the smile it plastered on my face. :)
