I do a lot of photography at local shows, where the stage area is very small and there usually aren't crazy colored lights going off. I use a Canon Rebel XS (1000D) and in between shots it always says BUSY for a short while, and I have to wait till its done before I can take more shots. Obviously this is very annoying because I miss good shot opportunities while waiting, but i usually don't get the BUSY signal when im taking pictures somewhere else. What is the reason for getting this, is it a problem with my camera or is it that the light exposure is too dark, etc.

Also, what settings are recommended when shooting in a concert studio that is fairly dark, with spotlights on the players?

FINAL QUESTION I PROMISE!:
What flash/lens would you recommend for concert photography?
right now I use the standard flash (thats on the camera) and the standard 18-55 mm lens.

please help, I'm pretty neive when it comes to concert photography.

Iv never used that camera so cant really help you with the first part. Just play around with your settings till you find one that works best.
As for the final question, your lens is fine you'll just have to be near the stage but thats not really a bad thing. I would try to keep away from using a flash, it'll generally make the picture come out worse
