Concert lawn seating?

I might be going to a concert this summer at the Verizon Wireless Music Center in Indianapolis, IN. My seats would be lawn seats. How is the view of the stage from lawn seating (not necessarily from this particular venue; from any venue) and how crowded do venues usually let the lawn get?
