I'm sixteen and my parents won't let me have a MySpace (I won't sneak it because I would get in the biggest trouble!). Anyway, my friend says that it's legal in Ohio for me to refuse their consent about it and I can do what I want since I'm sixteen. What do you know about the laws for a sixteen year old in Ohio?

In Ohio, 18 is the legal age of consent. Until you turn 18, you have no choice but to listen to them unless you become emancipated. At that point you are responsible for all your own bills, living arrangements...etc...Just listen to them. They know best.

First of all when you step outside your house you can listen to the laws of Ohio. But in the house your under the laws of your parents. Your parents love feed and clothe you. Not Ohio. Myspace isn't that big of a deal that you should go against your parents for it. Your parents pay for the internet. They paid for the pc. Why don't you go out and get a job. Show your parents that you can be responsible. Tell your friend she is full of crap and tell her don't help. If your parents found out you have a Myspace it would just prove you are too immature to be trusted. Maybe start paying for things like the internet. Don't listen to your friend. Im willing to bet there is no law in Ohio that says disobey your parents and have a myspace page.
