...months? There is also a move to embedded computers (also called ubiquitous or cloud computing). In this case the CPU is embedded in the device and you just access it as part of the device. Think of your mobile phone, microwave oven (Internet ready or not), or even your car (which has anywhere from 10 to 100's of computers). If computers become embedded do we even need a general purpose operating system with the accompanying user interface, i.e. Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7?
