computer not reading my sidekick LX phone ?

can anyone help me my computer isnt reading my sidekick LX..i plug it into the computer and it charges and when i go into something (i forgot) it shows that my sidekick is plugged in but its not showing up in "my computer". when i do plug it in an "F" drive apprears and then when i unplug it disappears but when i try to click on the "F" drive it just says "please insert a removable disk into it" blah blah blah...i need help with it asap..is there a program or something i need to do to fix this.. if u have any questions just write below and i will add them in..thanks
