Human and computer agents

If an attempt were made to deflect an NEO what types of
agent would be involved and what forms of interaction
would take place?
 
If you're trying to deflect the path of a NEO, it's unlikely that you would use anything other than a missile or a group of missiles, all armed with nuclear warheads. There would be no "agents" involved.
